    I love this workout. This is my second week doing it. My question is how many times a week should we do this workout for best results? I have been doing this 3x’s a week Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Is that enough or should I add in more days? (I also bike and? jog 5x’s a week too if that matters)

    It makes no difference if you are a beginner or not. Like I said in my last comment ‘toning’ refers to building LEAN MUSCLE MASS, this refers to muscles appearing toned. Women simply don’t produce enough testosterone to bulk up so lifting? in a heavy or hypertrophy rep range is completely fine. The myth of light weight, more reps is dated and science has proved it wrong time and time again. Next thing Jillian will be telling us strength training doesn’t aid weight loss, it’s simply not true.

    It makes a difference for those who are beginning. Like Jillian said, she wants to tone the muscle not build/bulk up the muscle. There is a difference. If you are interested in building muscle mass typically use low-rep/high-weight work outs. If you are interested in toning muscles, the workout is almost the opposite.? You would do more repetitions but with longer rest periods and less weight.

    She’s not saying women can’t lift more than five pounds or that they shouldn’t, she’s saying that for that SPECIFIC move you don’t need? to lift more than 5 lbs if you’re trying to TONE up.
